Monday Must Haves - Las Vegas!

Hey everyone! In a few days I'll be heading to Las Vegas for my 9th trip there. Seriously. NINTH. I mean to some people this is small peanuts, but I haven't been 9 times anywhere else (other than Saskatchewan but does that count as a vacation?)

So many people ask me what to do, Where to stay, where to eat, tips and all that kind of stuff. Well, obviously google works just as well, but I'll tell you what I like to do in Vegas.

1) Eat. Ok, seriously, I love to eat. Vegas is like the sin city of food for me. For the most part I eat pretty darn clean at home. But the second I get off of that plane, and into the limo (more on this a little lower...) it's time for carbs and more carbs. Some of the best meals I've had are in Las Vegas.

Baller: Gordon Ramsey Steak (located in Paris) Seriously. This place is the tits. THE TITS. I mean, there's a reason Ramsey is the way he is. Seriously. Everything about this place is amazing. Our server was the best (shout out to Dennis!), the service all around was great. The place was spotless, you could eat off the floor. If you want an amazing steak, a beautiful restaurant, and world class service, hit up Steak for sure.

That's Dennis! Ask for him! He's seriously amazing, and somehow has unending bottles of wine.

Budget: Rainforest Cafe (now located by Planet Hollywood). The first time my sister and I went to Vegas, I wanted a light dinner, so we headed to Rainforest Cafe and I ordered a Caeser salad. It was seriously like a 5 gallon pail. It was massive! It was so good, and like $15! It could easily feed like 2 people. Another awesome place for massive servings is Hash House A Go Go (in The Linq). Massive portions, reasonable prices, and delicious breakfast.

Me hungover AF enjoying a MASSIVE huevos rancheros at Hash House a Go Go. Seriously good lord Bailey you look like garbage.

Another thing I love to do, and this is slightly baller thing, I always like to take a limo or a town car from the airport to my hotel. Obviously, you can take a taxi. However, taking a limo, having someone waiting for you, with an ipad with your name on it. A bottle of champagne, and not having to wait in line for a cab. Seriously, it's the best. You get a pick up from the airport, a drive around, they drop you off, and they actually pick you up and drive you back to the airport which is awesome!

 Spouse limo time! Awww yissssss.

Sister Limo time! I always seem to look like garbage when I fly. Note to self: get a hat.

Another thing I love to do, DRYBAR. Who else has done this. For $49USD, you get your hair washed, dried, and styled. Did I mention that they are also fully licensed? You can have cocktails when you get your hair did, they have plug ins at all the stations, and usually have either a DJ, or some sweet music playing while TV's play chick flicks in the background. Seriously, could this place be any more awesome. I always make appointments at drybar when I go.

I've been to Vegas many different times of year. I love going to the pool. Hands down such a fun way to spend the day. This past July when we went, we rented a day bed at an adults only pool (21+) and it was a blast! Spending the day hanging by the pool enjoying booze and sunshine. Seriously. If you can, rent a dang cabana/day bed. There is nothing worse than being under desert sunshine with no shade for hours at a time (i'm super pasty I need the shade ok.)  Pay the money and live it up y'all!

 Pooooooool!

Pooooooool!

A couple other little tips, which I just learned from this past couple trips this year.

1) Las Vegas tap water tastes like shit. Take a cab a few blocks off strip, head to Target and get a flat of water. It was the best thing we did.

2) always stay at a hotel that has a fridge in the room. (planet hollywood and the linq both have them) Its so handy. We got little yogurts, and fruit and it was awesome. We could cut our food budget but buying all the stuff we needed for breakfast. Sadly, I have yet to find a hotel with a goddamn coffee maker in the room so grab some cold brew coffee and some cheap booze and you're on your way to a best Vegas time!

3) talk to the lame-ass club promoters on the strip. A lot of the time, cover and drinks can add up in Vegas. Talk to them, get a million wrist bands and take your pick of where you want to go at night. Always ask for free shit. ALWAYS. Las Vegas is built on free swag. I love to see what I can get for free. It's so handy.

also: naps. take naps.

I feel like these are some solid tips you'll get anywhere on Vegas. But either way, go and have fun. I one time talked with a guy who said Vegas is the last place where you can truly be an adult, and I totally agree, you can drink on the street, gamble away your dollars, and shop until Visa says you can't anymore. Las Vegas is an escape from reality for me. Someone will make my bed every day, I'm not in charge of cooking, and I can put makeup on for breakfast. It's one of my favourite places.
